Checking if you have a free Zoom account

This section describes how to check if you have a free Zoom account with a keio.jp email address (e.g. keio.jiro@keio.jp).
This is because there are differences in the procedure for joining Zoom Keio tenants depending on whether or not you have a free Zoom account.

About the keio.jp account to be confirmed

A "new-style Keio ID = Keio Apps ID" is required to log in to Zoom Keio's tenant.
Please make sure that you have a free Zoom account with the "new-style Keio ID = Keio Apps ID".

[Not applicable] Old-style Keio ID (issued before March 2015) keio.jiro@xx.keio.jp
[Applicable]New type of Keio ID (issued in March 2015 or later) keio.jiro@keio.jp

Examples of confirmation methods

(1) Log in to the free version of Zoom

Try logging in to the free version of Zoom at the following URL with your "new-style Keio ID = Keio Apps ID".
https://zoom.us/signin

(2) If you can log in -> Your free version account exists.

If you can log in from the same page, you have already obtained a free version account.
(You will need to be invited to Keio Tenant.)

Scroll down the profile page, and if the license is set to "Basic" in the "Account" section, the free version is confirmed.

(3) If you cannot log in

One of the following patterns is possible.

  • Login not possible due to a wrong password.
  • Login failure due to lack of a free version account.

Please click "Request Email" and check the content of the email that arrives.

(a) If you receive an invitation to the sign-up page -> No free version account

(Invitation operation to Keio Tenant is not required, and the account will be available upon user registration)

(Note: You do not need to actually sign up. Please destroy the email.)

(b) If you receive a password reset notice -> A free version account exists.

((You will need to be invited to Keio Tenant.)

(Note: You do not need to actually reset your password. Discard the email.)
